The Bate Avot Siyoudiyim are adapted to dependent elderly people needing nursing care (kchich siyoudi) because they cannot perform the basic acts of daily life alone:
getting up, sitting down, washing, dressing, eating or drinking, and moving around indoors or outdoors.
The elderly person takes an ADL (Activities of Daily Living) test to assess dependency and obtain the status of Kchich Siyoudi (Elderly Dependent Person) if he/she cannot do half of these basic activities by himself/herself.
The Kchich siyoudi can benefit from an allowance of the Ministry of Health (Misrad Habrioute) according to his state of dependence but also his level of resources and that of his spouse.
Before choosing a nursing home, it is important to evaluate the level and quality of the medical service offered.
