Dmé knissa (literally "entrance money"): money paid by the resident to get an apartment. This amount is less important than the pikadone but loses about 2% + VAT of its value per month and is totally lost after about 4 years by the resident. The resident can stay in the apartment and benefit from the services of the residence until 120 years...
Dmé pikadone (literally "deposit money"): money paid by the resident for an apartment. This amount loses about 2.5-3% of its value per year for usually 12 or 15 years and the rest is returned to the resident or his/her descendants.
The services of residences in Israel
Ma'hlaka Siyoudit (Nursing Department): the residence has a dedicated nursing department.
Sal chiroutim (Basket of services): the resident receives a range of services such as catering, bio-cleaning of common areas and rooms, various socio-cultural activities adapted to his age and condition, etc.
Tekoufate nissayon (trial period): the resident can test the residence for a trial period in exchange for payment.
